Introduction:  Imagine that you're an exchange student in France. Your host father's company is having a party, and you've been invited to attend along with the rest of the family. The only problem is, you don't have anything dressy enough to wear for an occasion like this! You're going to have to investigate French clothing stores and find an appropriate outfit.
Task: Using the Internet, you will look at several different outfits, taking notes on the price, colors, sizes, etc., of each item. You will select the outfit you want to buy, and fill out an order form. Then you will write a letter to a friend back home, telling him or her about the outfit you bought, and about the experience of shopping on the Internet in France.
Step 1:
You're going to have to find something to wear for the party. You have about 600 euros that you can spend. Look at four or five outfits online and take notes about the color and price of each item. Use the chart below to organize the information you gather, or create a graphic organizer of your own.

Step 2:
Now that you've had a chance to look at several items, choose what you're going to buy for the party. Print out and fill in an order form for the items you want to purchase, or create and fill out an order form of your own. Be sure to include your name, mailing address, a description of the item(s), the size, color, price, order number, and any other important information.
Step 3:
Write a letter to a friend back in the United States. Describe in detail the outfit you're going to purchase, and tell your friend about the experience of shopping using French Internet sites.
