Introduction: Imagine that you are on vacation in Paris with your family. It's the last night of your vacation, and you want to find a special restaurant where you can celebrate the wonderful time you've had in France.
Task:
Using the Internet, research four or five restaurants in Paris. Find information about the kind of food each restaurant serves, the price range, the location, and the hours of operation. Then decide which restaurant you think your family should eat at, and write a note to your parents explaining all the options and your choice. They will then use that information to help them make the final decision. Finally, create a menu and act out a scene at a French restaurant. You can use a round table (provide by the teacher) food, beverages, table cloths, music, etc.

Step 1:
First, think about the kinds of food your family likes to eat. Are they going to want to try something safe or experiment with a different kind of cuisine? Once you've settled on a particular type of restaurant, look at several restaurants on the web, and select four or five that you think your family might like. Take notes on the name of each restaurant, the type of food they serve, the price range, the location of the restaurants, and anything else that might be useful. Use the chart below or create your own graphic organizer.

Step 2:
Your parents are going to make a final decision about which restaurant to visit. Compile the information you found on all the restaurants in a note to your parents. Tell them about each restaurant, indicating which one you would choose and why. Be sure to include any information that you think might help your parents make up their minds.
Step 3:
Your meal was fantastic. It was so good that you want to write a note to the restaurant, thanking them for giving you such a wonderful last memory of Paris. Tell them when you dined at the restaurant, who your server was, what each of you ate, and what you thought of each dish. You'll want to be polite, so remember to use the vous form in your letter.
Evaluation:|
The students will present the project by writing a report and creating a menu to illustrate their work.

The whole project is worth 100 points.
