Theme: French Speaking Countries (Relationships).
Instructional Focus: This lesson expands the student view of the French-speaking world and takes them to the many places where they will be able to use their French.
Benchmark Covered (SC.G.2.3.4): FL.C.1.2.1, FL.C.1.2.2 (Content-area in the target language and reinforce knowledge)
Instructional Time: 3 weeks (one week to complete de project).

Major topic, terms, and skills discovered: The French-speaking world (Le monde Francophone). They will learn the word francophone and expand their knowledge in Geography using maps, facts and figures as a valuable resource throughout their journey.
Tangible Outcomes for students: The students expand their knowledge of the countries and communities in the French-speaking world.

Introduction: Your school's Foreign Languages Department has been offered a grant to send you and your classmates to the French Speaking Country of your choice for a semester. After meeting with the representatives from all French speaking countries of the world you must chose a country. You will be responsible for sharing information about your country when you return.
Task: Now that you have returned, your principal wants you to create a presentation to present to parents and county members on your country at "Back-to-School Night" since you are now the expert.
Your presentation should include but is not limited to the following elements: Location, Geography, Government, Money, and Natural resources, School, Family, Tourist Attractions, History, Culture and Food.
Also include your opinion on the country and what you enjoyed the most about your stay.
Evaluation:
This project is an independent work. The students will present the project by writing a report and creating a poster to illustrate their work.
